FIVE PRAYER STEPS FOR REVITALIZED LIVING

During a season of setbacks, pivoting, and acceleration, your health can be at risk. Taking care of your church is one thing but taking care of yourself is another. Revitalizing your health is crucial in church revitalization. Taking care of yourself during a season of turnaround can be difficult, but it is possible.

The Bible is the most significant health book in all the world. God’s Word is the
very thing that can heal us, renew us, and revive us.

Here are five prayers to pray to ensure a revitalized life in ministry.

I.THE LONGEVITY PRAYER
Think longevity over legacy. Often people are concerned with legacy. But when you follow Jesus, it is no longer about you, it is about sacrificing for the kingdom and
making Jesus’ name known. Jesus told us that we will gain life if we lose our
life (Matthew 16:24-25). Start praying that God will give you stamina and longevity in your ministry.

Revitalized Prayer: God, give me the stamina for longevity.

2.THE PRUDENCE PRAYER
Think slow instead of go. Too many people say yes to the wrong things in ministry.
Take your time and make sure that what you are committing to is going to lead
you to feel revitalized and not drained. “When we walk in the Spirit of God, we
will not fulfill the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16). Start saying yes to things that
give you joy over the things that bring you down.

Revitalized Prayer: God, keep anything away from me that harms your work and that will keep you from working in and through me.

3. THE ENDURANCE PRAYER
Think ministry minimalist. Too many leaders are weighed down with fear, doubt, worry, greed, and even lust. Think like a minimalist and ask yourself, “Do I
really need this in my life?” As a leader, we are encouraged to “lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1). The stuff that weighs us down is the stuff that holds us back.

Revitalized Prayer: God, help me get rid of anything in my life that weighs me down and makes you sad.

4. THE PREPARATION PRAYER
Think preparation. Preparation is about getting ready to meet Jesus face-to-face as you are serving Him on the earth. Sometimes as leaders we need to prepare ourselves to lead well so that we can finish well. Leaders that prepare themselves always go away satisfied. Make sure that you are clean in motives and ready to be used by Jesus in everything you do (2 Timothy 2:21).

Revitalized Prayer: God, help me remain clean in every area of my life so that you can use me for your honor.

5. THE RENEWAL PRAYER
Think renewed and refreshed. Too many leaders are tired from all the acceleration and pivoting within our culture. Make sure that you are in control of the current
and not just riding the waves. Stand firm, plan well, and be in control of yourself. If
you are tired, maybe you need a break and some time to rest. God promises that if
we wait on Him He will renew our strength for the journey ahead (Isaiah 40:31). Strength will rise if we wait upon the Lord.

Revitalized Prayer: God, help me lean into your Word and pray when I am weak.
Take these five prayers and ask God to use them to revitalize your life and your ministry.
