Six Home Prayers For The Family

The outside circumstances around your home may be out of your control. However, you can control what goes on inside your home. Here are six prayers to bring into your home through and pray as you move into a Godward focus with great expectation.
1. A Home of Peace
“My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.”
Isaiah 32:18 NIV
Dear Lord, Make my home a place of peace. Help me know that you protect our family and give us rest because Jesus is the prince of peace (Is. 9:6; Ephesians 2:14-22)
2. A Home of Serving
“….But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 NIV
Dear Lord, No matter what culture may do and agree on, our family will serve and obey you. We know that you love what is right and hate what is wrong. Give us guidance to keep us focused as we walk with you.
3. A Home of Righteousness
“The Lord curses the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the upright.”
Proverbs 3:33 NLT
Dear Lord, We know that wickedness will end when you come. Help our home stand up for what is right in your eyes and know your ways, regardless of what others think about us. Give us boldness to follow your practices.
4. A Home of Edifying
“A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.”
Proverbs 14:1 NLT
Dear Lord, it takes years to build a robust Godly family. Help us put much time into focusing on our children and the ones we love. It only takes a few bad choices to tear apart something special. Help us stand for you.
5. A Home of Life
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Proverbs 18:21
Dear Lord, My words can take my family to the balcony, or my words can take the ones I love to the basement. Help me choose my words wisely and understand that my speech needs to speak life and give encouragement to those you have entrusted to me.
6. A Home of Wisdom
“It takes wisdom to build a house and understanding to set it on a firm foundation; It takes knowledge to furnish its rooms with fine furniture and beautiful draperies.”
Proverbs 24:3-4 MSG
Dear Lord, Help me use wisdom over foolishness. Teach me to speak when I need to and keep silent when I need to. Help me with the timing of my words and using biblical knowledge to build my house with your wisdom and not my own. Give me divine understanding and help my unbelief. Only you can guide and direct my steps and our family.
